This page will include all the images that were taken for my cover, it will include the images that I took but never intended to use for the actual over. I also have uploaded the before and after of editing each image which I used to show what a difference their is from the original image to the edited. Each image that I edited was edited in Macromedia Fireworks, the reason for me using this programme is because it had a number of tool which allowed me to delete the whole background away and edit the brightness and contrast of the image. I was also able to use free hand tools as well as shapes in what ever colour I preferred.

The image to the left was the first image I had taken for my cover, this one just trial one to see how the image turn out; I had to see if the clothes looked right in the image and in case  the top blended in with the background.
Although this image was trial run I would have used it if it was a decent image but, the first one didn't turn out well because my model didn't know how to pose, that is the reason for her hands being either side of her.

Again I didn't use this image (to the right) because I didn't like the stance my model was using when taking the image, I think perhaps if she done something different with her arms the final image could have look better. However because I didn't like this image at all I didn't think of taking another like it but with her doing something with her arms.

I really like this image to the left because of how fun and interesting it is, however I couldn't really use a sitting down image for my cover because I don't think it would look right, I also don't think that my audience would like the idea of my models face being covered because most covers have mode of address with the audience by using direct eye contact.

The image to the right is the actual image I used for my for my front cover because I liked the idea of her having her head tilted with her hand on a hip because it looks like she has attitude but at the same time has quite a cute look to it by her having her head tilted. The image to left is the edited version of my image which I actually used for my cover. The reason for me editing my image is because the background wasn't suitable for the cover and it made it look unprofessional.

For my contents image I only had to take one image for me to find the image I wanted, there was  only a little bit of editing required which was brightening the image up a bit and adding in some shadows, I kept the background to the image because I didn't think deleting the background made much of a difference. I also edited this image using Macromedia Fireworks.

This page will include all the images that were taken for my double page spread, it will include the images that I took but never intended to use for the actual double page spread I also have uploaded the before and after of editing each image which I used to show what a difference their is from the original image to the edited. I really liked this image because it was quite a casual image trendy one that would appeal to my audiences, however  I didn't like her facial expression on it, I wanted her to have more of a smile on it, whereas on this one she doesn't seem to look to happy, it could just be the fact that she was uncomfortable posing in front of the camera.

I really like this picture because I think that the model looks really pretty in this image and comfortable in front of the camera now. It is quite a natural picture because she isn't posing making it seem fake and like every other picture that was taken. However when I uploaded the image into fireworks to edited the image, it turned all pixelated and disfigured her face and arms which was very unfortunate.

The image to the left isn't very clear so I wouldn't have been able to use this image, also it has quite a lot of shadows on it, which would have made it hard to edit.

The three image above this text is the actual image that I used for my double page spread, edited and unedited.

The image on the left was the original image I had taken, the reason I chose this image was because the love heart shape she made link in with my article about her 'dating' Justin Bieber. The centre image was the first editing I made of the image, I brighten the image and outlined the image with pink, however the outline looked to fake which mean I didn't think I should use it as it didn't have a professional look to it. I then re-edited the image by cropping it from the background and giving it a shadow, which I decided would be my final image (the image to the right).

I will be using this post to show you step by step production of each part of my final magazine cover.

To start with I selected my background colour of a pale grey which then faded down into white, the reason for me choosing this effect and colours for the background was because I knew any colour would go with those two colours, also just about any colour could stand out from that background making it draw attention to the cover. I chose to firstly put in my sell line and title because they would be the easiest things to put into position whereas the cover lines I would most likely have to move around quite a bit so that the magazine doesn't look too spacious. I then decided to put the price on after that to filll in the blank gap I had in the top right corner.

I next only added in my website and bar code because they were also items that were easy to put into position because, they will only ever be placed at the bottom of the cover as they would look out of place if they were position anywhere else. I couldn't have placed them in the middle of the magazine because it wouldn't look professional and if would ruin the rest of the cover, the only other place where I would have decided to place them would at the very top of the page position in the corners like I have now, however I have my sell line there which wouldn't look good in any other layout on the page.

I then added my image to the cover, the reason for me adding my image before my cover lines is because it allowed me to place my cover lines around the image without it looking over crowded. The image is also one of the hardest items to get the positioned correctly because it has to be zoomed in enough, without it being pixelated.

Finally I included my cover lines on my cover, however I dont like the position of them because I seem to have a lot of blank spaces, causing it to look unprofessional.

This page will be showing each step it took me to create my contents page.

I firstly positioned my header and footer on the page, to allow me to work my way down the page in adding in my list of pages and image.

The image to the right is showing that I then added in my list of pages below my header because this was the most amount of text that was to be included on this page.

I then placed in my quote, then my 'strum review' to fill in the large white gap at the bottom of the page.

Again I firstly put in my header and footer because they are both positioned at the top and bottom of the page, which made it easier for when I went to insert my other items to the page.

I think that the black and pink work very well together and create a striking effect which catches the eye. I like the layout of the front cover as it is clear and easy to read. I would criticise that the background is a fairly plain boring colour and i think it could be changed to a more effective colour.

I like how both black and bright pink writing is used against a pale background as I think this it makes the magazine cover more eye catching and appealing overall. The layout looks very professional and I like how the image is included on the front as it once again attracts the readers attention whereas if no images were included then it would be too plain. Although I like the layout of the magazine I think the blank spaces should have been filled, for example; more text could have been included on the front.
